What are Specialty Flours?

PGP International offers a wide variety of specialty flours that includes rice, millet, sorghum flours in addition to rice meal. Our flours and rice meals are made from different varieties of rice and are available in a wide range of different particle sizes. At PGP International, we have the ability to make rice flours from a very coarse particle size to a very fine particle size.

We also offer organic rice flour and rice meal that is certified through QAI (Quality Assurance International). PGP International has also developed a variety of rice based functional ingredients for the food industry under the PAC brand.

Specialty Flour Products and Applications

Applications for our specialty flours include baked goods such bakery mix products, breads, pancakes, pizza dough and waffles. Other applications also include baby food, breakfast cereals, extruded snacks, prepared foods, sauces, gravies and soups.

Our PAC products have been developed for applications in the bakery, beverage, cosmetics, dressing and sauces, ice cream, meat, tableting and tortilla industries.

Rice Flour
Rice flour is hypoallergenic (gluten-free) and bland organoleptically. It is also available as organic.

Whole Millet Flour
Whole millet flour does not contain gluten and is considered to be one of the most digestible grains available. It is rich in phytochemicals, including Phytic acid, which is believed to lower cholesterol, and Phytate, which is associated with reduced cancer risk. This product is available as organic.

Whole Sorghum Flour
Whole sorghum flour is high in insoluble fiber with moderately small levels of soluble fiber and does not contain gluten. It has a slow rate of digestion compared to other cereals and may be beneficial to diabetics. This product may be substituted for wheat or corn flour and has a toasted/nutty flavor and light color. This product is also available as organic.

PAC Products
PAC products are non-chemically modified and uses extrusion technology-based processing. It is low micro and has clean label declarations. The products have a unique functionality as dough conditioners, viscosity enhancers, proofing aids, meat tenderizers, low micro fillers and excipients. PAC products are also available as organic.
