Group Finance Manager

ROLE SUMMARY:

Fytexia Group is a life science company that specialises in the development of scientifically supported active ingredients for dietary supplements. The Group’s ingredients are sold worldwide in over 35 countries. Fytexia Group was acquired by ABF Ingredients in January 2022 and comprises two business units: Fytexia, a global expert in botanical polyphenols; and B Natural, the European leader for the extraction and refinement of brown propolis. Fytexia Group acquired a majority stake in B Natural in May 2021.

Fytexia Group is headquartered in Vendres, France where it also has a manufacturing facility focused on blending botanical polyphenols. It has a second facility in Corbetta, Italy which is focused on propolis extraction. Additionally, there are sales offices in New York, USA, and Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia, and warehousing in the USA.

The role of Fytexia Group Finance Manager has arisen due to the need to step up reporting and compliance to meet ABF standards. This is an exciting opportunity to create and embed processes and to help build Fytexia Group's finance capabilities.

The responsibilities of this role will span both business units and all locations.

PURPOSE OF ROLE:

Fytexia Group Finance Manager will be responsible for reporting and compliance for Fytexia Group. This involves establishing timely monthly reporting and quarterly forecasts as well as embedding internal controls. The Finance Manager will also play a critical role in preparing the organisation for future growth and further acquisitions.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

The primary responsibilities of this role are:

  • Act as the primary contact for third party providers of bookkeeping and tax in France, Italy and the US with regards to accounting and compliance
  • Support the B Natural finance team in Italy with regards to accounting and compliance
  • Supervise accounts payable and accounts receivable process in France
  • Owner of the Fytexia Group consolidated P&L ensuring appropriate cost allocations between business units and maintaining the sales/margin database
  • Co-ordinate and consolidate month-end reporting including inter-company matching, preparing commentary and slide deck
  • Co-ordinate and consolidate the quarterly forecast including: inter-company matching; preparing commentary and slide deck; and forecasting overheads and the balance sheet
  • Act as subject matter expert on ABF reporting packs and consolidation tool
  • Owner of IFRS and group consolidation adjustments
  • Perform adhoc analysis on business performance as guided by Fytexia Group Finance Director
  • Lead on Fytexia Group matters as required
  • Co-ordinate requests from ABF/ ABFI

Support with initiatives enabling future growth which may include:

  • ERP implementation
  • Establishing an SSC for accounting and compliance

The Fytexia Group Finance Manager is expected to spend two days a week in the Fytexia office in Vendres and to travel to the B Natural site in Italy approximately once a month.

KNOWLEDGE AND EXPERIENCE NEEDED:

Required:

  • Qualified accountant with minimum of 2 years PQE
  • Strong analytical skills to absorb information, draw out key messages, and develop the ‘so what’ for our business
  • Strong Excel skills
  • Very comfortable with PowerPoint
  • Strong modelling and analysis capabilities.
  • Experience of TM1 or similar

Advantageous

  • Experience of IFRS and local accounting standards (French/ Italian/ US GAAP)
  • Experience of ERP implementations and a plus if Microsoft 365
  • Exposure to an SSC environment
